Heading over to the mailbag for a letter today! T… asks about fixing up his LinkedIn presence. He says:
Until I read your posts I just asked people to join me a bit ad hoc. … [So I was interested in] an article on how to rectify the mistakes if you are already on LinkedIn and have “farmed” contacts?
I’ve implied some things about that sort of situation over the years, but it sounds like a great topic for today.

Let’s take a moment to ring out 2011 and look back at some of the most read articles for the year.
It’s been an interesting one with the release of The Revised LinkedIn Personal Trainer and the public stock offering from LinkedIn. (The later of which didn’t make much of an impact here…)
It’s hard to compare an article written in January against an article written in November – the one’s just been around a whole lot longer to attract attention. So I’ve used a bit of a weighting to try to factor that in.

Consider this challenge – four years ago it was easier to convince people that holding a training session on LinkedIn was a good idea. It was new, didn’t have any real help facilities, and wasn’t the most straight forward to understand.
But a couple months back I proposed an event that coincided with the release of The Revised LinkedIn Personal Trainer and was essentially rebuffed – the group members didn’t think they’d get much value from it.
And that’s why we came up with this quiz…
