Let’s offer some assistance for those that are feeling LinkedIn is useful only if you are looking for a new job.
You know – they say “I’ll get to it, but I don’t need it right now.”
If only they…
Found more success searching for assistance
You know – when searching for the person that might be able to help with a particular technical challenge.
Those sorts of people can be found by keyword, or in niche groups all over LinkedIn.
Made more sales
Sales people need LinkedIn even more than job seekers! Every time I run a workshop for the sales arm of an organization they leave kicking themselves for finding LinkedIn this late…
Kept up with their former associates
Remember the people you promised to stay in touch with? Well ten years later they’re still out there, but the “annual reunion” stopped six years ago…
Reconnect to your co-workers and notice when things happen in their lives – without too much effort.
What do you use it for?
Besides looking for work – what ways have you found LinkedIn makes your life more pleasant and/or successful lately?
To your continued success,
steve

Have you used linkedin to generate any clients for your personal training business?
Ben
Ben,
Yes, I personally train individuals on how to use LinkedIn – and those people come by one of three ways: word of mouth, from this blog, or after they find me on LinkedIn. (and I expect most times one of those methods leads to all three being used to “check me out”)
If you mean like being an athletic trainer, you’ve missed the point entirely of this blog – but please keep reading!
