So I’ll agree that the whole “West Wing” portion of this Favorite Linked Thing is mostly a catchy rhyme and not something I have personal experience with…
(Though I would be happy to visit, and I hear that they do in fact use smart phones;-)
But let’s have a look at the handheld apps for LinkedIn…
Blackberry
Yup – there’s an app, and I’ve written about it before.
Since I don’t have a Blackberry, I was reporting on the availability of it – but checking the blackberry store, it seems to be down to two stars.
Some reviews seem to have heightened expectations – it isn’t meant to be “the site” but a way to check the site when you’re out… I suggest you try it and see for yourself.
Palm
Do people use those anymore?-)
Anyway, yes, you’ll find support there, and it has 3 stars.
iPhone
And where would the world be without an app for the i-devices… This one also seems to have 3 stars.
Try for yourself
So yes, if you have a smart phone, give your app a try – but go in with healthy expectations.
You’re not going to be editing your profile on the fly, but checking for messages and doing a little research on the cute girl/guy you met at lunch – oh yes, you might have missed my article on the use of LinkedIn as a dating tool…
