LinkedIn just released a feature on customizing your profile – you may now alter the default order of the sections.
I’m trying to find a compelling reason to do so or something to say about why this is phenomenal, but I really can’t…

While I published The LinkedIn Personal Trainer in June of 2007, I re-launched this blog in May of 2008 with a new look. It’s worked well, and readership is doing very well.
But most of you weren’t there in 2008;-)

Back to the future of 2010 – if you look for yourself on LinkedIn, how many of you will you find?
It’s an important item to figure out because if you happen to have multiple profiles on LinkedIn, you’re saying something about yourself and your abilities to manage this tool.

How can you get to the top of the list?
That’s a really important place to be isn’t it? The corporate recruiter has only so much time and it’s better to be the first candidate the search returns than the last.
The venture guys are looking for a company within the sustainable agriculture sector to invest in. They’ll take the time to check into the results on the first page. But if you’re on the second page, they might not click over…

LinkedIn’s “Introduction” feature is key to the service – it lets users reach out to potential customers, employers, employees, partners, and even investors.
This is a great way to turn a cold call into a warm introduction – through a mutually trusted individual.
And while it is possible to ask for introductions to both 2nd and 3rd level connections, it is easier with 2nd – because there is only one individual in the middle that knows both the introducer and the introducee.
LinkedIn opened up a search option to allow users to specify the relationship – and you should do that.
